Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. She was raised by her mother, within the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist insults, she was felt unloved. Her confidence began to grow in the ninth grade when she entered a school audition. She was praised for her performance. This not only increased her confidence but her dreams changed. In 1992, she earned her master's degree from the city's Julliard School. At the age of 23, she started her journey on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old her first film debut was You've got mail. Her greatest break came in her role as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the original Broadway version of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. The following year, she joined the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. Apart from being an acclaimed singer she also released her own solo album and a longer piece. She also works as an LGBT activist.
